The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, helps eligible residents pay home energy bills, including summer electric costs.
In Arkansas, LIHEAP applications are currently open and are handled through the community-based organization that serves your county. Learn more and find your county's contact information here.
In Oklahoma, Summer Cooling assistance is expected to open July 14, 2026, through OKDHSLive.org and will remain available until funds are exhausted.
LIHEAP is designed for residential customers who meet income and household eligibility guidelines. Applicants are usually asked to provide identification, proof of income, utility bills, and other household information. Because funding is limited, customers are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and make sure their application is complete.
