May 2025 Major Outage

10:30 p.m., May 19

On the evening of Monday, May 19, a system of strong storms including several possible tornadoes, swept through our service area, causing extensive damage and widespread outages. These were in addition to remaining outages from severe storms the day before.

As of 10:30 p.m., we had 28,981 members out of power. We have confirmed physical damage to high-voltage transmission lines.

In addition to our crews and contract crews that had already been called in for Sunday's storms, we are requesting mutual aid from other cooperatives to assist in our restoration efforts.

Due to the widespread and significant damage, we expect that this will be an extended restoration effort.

Please exercise caution and stay far away from any downed lines or other damaged electrical equipment. Always assume that all power lines are live. If you are using a portable generator, make sure to review our safety tips.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this major outage event.
