Ozarks Electric Cooperative Passes Two Million Working Hours Without Lost Time Accident

Fayetteville, Ark. – Ozarks Electric Cooperative today announced that it has achieved yet another major safety milestone, accumulating two million working hours without a lost workday accident.

The milestone, reached last week, equates to more than five years and five million road miles for the company. In an industry consistently ranked as one of the top ten most hazardous occupations in the country, this is a significant achievement.

“Our industry requires a strong dedication to safety and we are incredibly proud to reach a milestone that few companies ever achieve. I believe it is a testimony to the culture of safety our employees adopt and practice each and every day,” said Mitchell Johnson, president/CEO of Ozarks Electric.

“It’s that focus and commitment by each of our employees that allows all of us to return home to our families, safe and sound every night. Our dedication to excellence in safety is beneficial to our entire cooperative. I invite our members and our community to join me in congratulating our employees on this great achievement.”

Ozarks Electric, incorporated in 1938, is a member-owned electric cooperative, serving more than 70,000 meters across nine counties in Northwest Arkansas and Northeast Oklahoma. For more information about Ozarks Electric, visit the cooperative’s website at www.ozarksecc.com.
