Complete Energy Audit Program

1. Summary of program

Ozarks Electric Cooperative’s complete energy audit program is one of the first comprehensive energy audits offered by a utility. It utilizes blower door and infrared testing equipment to determine heating and cooling lose in existing home structures. Using these testing technologies, OECC’s energy auditor can diagnose structural deficiencies in a home or building that lead to high energy consumption. By identifying definite areas that need improvement, you can easily make a significant difference in energy usage. In turn by reducing your demand for energy then OECC will benefit from the demand reduction. This produces a win-win situation for both you and OECC. This test will cost $100 up front. Reimbursement of the initial $100 will be made to you upon presentation of paid receipts for energy improvements and will be limited to $100. A cost for the program allows you to have vested interest in the program and will ensure areas that need improvement are fixed. The reimbursement process also gives us a way to verify that energy saving upgrades has been done and report those to the PSC.

2. Qualifying members

House must have energy consumption above $.09 per square foot on their highest energy bill. ($180 divided by 2000sqr/ft = .09 per sq ft)
Must be a current member of Ozarks Electric Cooperative
Member must live in the home.
Member or designated person must be present for test. Audits will only be conducted from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Monday – Friday.
Payment of $100 must be made to OECC before audit can be scheduled.
Member may request a basic energy audit that does not include blower door testing and verification, this audit is free to the member.

Definitions/Procedures

Basic Energy Audit: Members usage is consistently high and they would like to know some areas where the can save energy. This is simply a walk through of the home with general suggestions for obvious fixes to conserve energy.
Complete Energy Audit: These are extremely comprehensive energy audits taking advantage of both blower door and infrared camera technology. These tests will identify precise opportunities for savings and include written reports and measurements. The reports will include: load sizing for heating and air equipment, blower door test results, measured tightness of the home, recommendations, and an infrared report if desired.
